The Position of Sacristan at St. Peter's Cathedral

Most of our parishioners are aware of the faithful service of Paul Kays, who served as Sacristan of this parish for 50 years. Paul Kays stepped down from the position of sacristan in February of 2003, and passed away on March 16th of that year. The Rector then appointed Ralph Moore (assisted by Eric Edward and others) to succeed Paul. Ralph Moore continued to hold this position from 2003 until August of 2008, when he went to Montreal to complete his studies for the priesthood. After that, from September 2008 until September 2009, Timothy Kenney and Craig MacDonald performed most of the duties of sacristan, on an interim basis. In September 2009, the Rector officially named them as "co-sacristans". In April 2010, Timothy Kenney completed his five years of study at UPEI, and moved back to his native Nova Scotia. Craig MacDonald has now agreed to hold the position of "Sacristan of St. Peter's Cathedral". [as of April 18, 2010].
